Vice Chancellor’s Office
The Vice Chancellor’s Office leads University Advancement in supporting UNCG’s mission and strategic plan by engaging alumni and friends and strengthening philanthropic support for the University. As a member of the Chancellor’s Council, the Vice Chancellor serves as a partner and resource to other senior University leaders in addition to overseeing all activities of the University Advancement team, including communications, operations, development, alumni engagement, and philanthropic engagement.
Advancement Communications
Advancement Communications is responsible for high-impact communication efforts — both broad and targeted — helping University Advancement build relationships with alumni and donors, strengthen engagement, and encourage philanthropic support. Our team produces UNCG Magazine, leads the University’s annual giving efforts, and supports the communication efforts of the Alumni Engagement, Development, and Philanthropic Engagement teams.
Advancement Operations
The Advancement Operations team is a critical resource for the division and campus community as the support they provide enhances communication and engagement with our constituents. Their work includes prospect research, gift processing, CRM/data management and analysis, and human resources and business functions.
Alumni Engagement
Alumni Engagement coordinates events and initiatives to encourage alumni to stay connected to the UNCG community. Our team designs meaningful programming for regional alumni networks, academic and organizational alumni affinity groups, Vanguard class reunions, as well as the broader community of over 141,000 alumni. We support alumni as they exemplify the university motto of “service” through volunteer opportunities, board leadership, and mentorship of current students.
Development
The Office of Development works to secure private funds to support our students, faculty and staff, programs, and facilities. We understand the University’s needs and partner with alumni and friends to help them find unique opportunities to support and advance UNCG’s mission in a manner that fits their philanthropic vision. Our office includes Leadership Annual Giving, Major Gifts, Planned Giving, and Corporate and Foundation Relations.
Philanthropic engagement
Philanthropic Engagement creates connections and strengthens relationships between UNCG and its constituents through intentional stewardship, exceptional event experiences, and curated volunteer opportunities. Our Donor and Board Engagement team manages gift agreements, named spaces, giving societies, award nominations, and volunteer boards and committees. Our University Events team plans Commencement, Advancement events, and many signature events led by the Chancellor.
