UNCG faculty gift furthers a legacy of music education

UNCG’s School of Music produces excellent performers, K-12 teachers, and collegiate educators. It’s “extraordinary” says Professor Emerita Nancy Walker. Now, she and her husband, Tim Lindeman, will do more. They’re supporting undergraduates majoring in voice who exemplify remarkable academic, artistic, and professional promise through the newly-established Nancy Walker and Timothy Lindeman Scholarship Endowment in Music.

Hoffmann gift supports education through art

Nancy Hoffmann will honor her late husband with the Nancy and Jack Hoffmann ’99 Academic Programming Endowment. This gift establishes new support for academic programming at the Weatherspoon Art Museum including stipends for guest speakers, funds related to faculty/student-curated exhibitions, and other promotions that develop the strong academic relationship between the museum and UNCG.

Berryhill scholarships grow education at UNCG

UNCG’s School of Education makes a profound impact on classrooms in North Carolina. Teachers trained at UNCG, who often have more than 1,000 hours of hands-on experience in classrooms by the time they graduate, are ready for successful careers.

Now, a testamentary gift to the Barbara Davis Berryhill and Leigh Berryhill Teacher Education Scholarship Fund from Barbara Berryhill ’57 will add to the original endowment and support even more students.

Bedford Falls Foundation commits $3 million to UNCG School of Nursing 

The Bedford Falls Foundation’s mission is to remove barriers to a high-quality nursing education and address the critical nursing workforce shortage. Now, its donor-advised fund has committed to a $3 million gift to UNC Greensboro’s School of Nursing that will establish the Joanne and William Conway Nursing Scholarship.

Weatherspoon Art Museum Receives Naming Gift for the Warmath Commons

The Weatherspoon Art Museum announces the naming of its atrium as the new Warmath Commons, in recognition of a major gift celebrating the Warmath family’s six decades of service and support. The funds for the Warmath Commons will further the museum’s commitment to community engagement by advancing the core mission of the Weatherspoon as a place of welcome, discovery, and engagement for the students, faculty, and staff of UNC Greensboro and the community of Greensboro.

Greensboro’s Arch Mortgage Insurance Company (Arch MI) has offered its financial support to UNC Greensboro for more than 40 years. UNCG’s Bryan School of Business and Economics and Spartan Athletics are among the programs that have received generous gifts.

Now, the company establishes the Arch MI Scholars at UNCG with a pledge to award scholarships to four deserving students over their junior and senior years.
