WHERE CREATIVITY MEETS ACTION AT UNC GREENSBORO

The Jeanne Tannenbaum Center for Creative Practice represents a transformative step forward in UNCG’s commitment to creativity, leadership, and community engagement. Set to launch in mid-2026, the Tannenbaum Center will be a pioneering interdisciplinary hub where art, innovation, and technology converge to address the challenges of a rapidly changing world.

The Tannenbaum Center advances the University’s Millennial Campus initiative, a transformative project designed to enhance the University’s impact on both campus and community. It also represents a strategic location within two key districts: a health and wellness corridor along Gate City Boulevard, and an arts and humanities corridor along Tate Street.

a New front door for creativity

The Tannenbaum Center empowers thinkers and makers — whether students, faculty, or community members — to create, learn, share, and connect. By fostering research and ideas that are both locally and globally relevant, it will place creativity at the heart of collaborative efforts to think about and address such pressing issues as health and wellness, climate change, and social entrepreneurship.

The Tannenbaum Center’s vision is rooted in the belief that the arts, combined with participatory engagement and cutting-edge technology, can change lives.

A Hub for Innovation and Community Engagement

UNCG is uniquely positioned to expand how it translates and shares high-quality research through teaching and community engagement. The Tannenbaum Center will play a pivotal role in this expansion.

Transforming Lives Through Creative Practice

The Jeanne Tannenbaum Center for Creative Practice is more than just a space; it is a catalyst for change. By combining the arts, humanities, sciences, and technology, the Tannenbaum Center nurtures open inquiry and encourages the co-construction of new knowledge. In doing so, it fulfills its promise to be a place where creativity meets action, and where the future is shaped by those who dare to think differently.

FUTURE IMPACT

The Tannenbaum Center’s impact will extend far beyond its physical walls. As a cornerstone of UNCG’s commitment to arts-driven community engagement, the Tannenbaum Center will play a pivotal role in the University’s mission to connect teaching, research, and public service.

Its integration into UNCG’s strategic vision, which emphasizes creativity, community, leadership, and innovation, will make it a focal point for interdisciplinary learning. Whether through the Creative-in-Residence program, cutting-edge technology labs, or public performances and exhibitions, the Tannenbaum Center will be a place where the arts intersect with every aspect of academic and community life at UNCG.
